• After two weeks of release, Andy's new movie "Armageddon"has made over 20 million in the HK box office.

• Andy plans to open a "Erhu, Singer, Actor School" in Taipei, Taiwan with Wan Gam Lung. Wan Gam Lung would teach people how to play the Chinese instrument, erhu while Andy would teach singing and acting.

• Andy was once again being asked when he will get marry. Reporters asked him if the reason he is not getting married is because he is afraid it would hurt his star image. Andy said he is not afraid of shattering his idol image. He has always believed that it is important to have a family, but if he does get married, the ceremony would be like ordinary people. However, he will only tell his friends and will not announce it to the public.
• Besides acting, Andy is doing some directing. He will be directing the MTV for the new female Taiwan singer, Peng Jia Hui. Andy said he will continue to concentrate in the movie industry. However, he hopes to explore other areas of interest, such as directing, but he does not know if he has the ability to be a director. In addition, he hopes to publish a book.

• Andy was number one in the "Second Annual Top Ten Asian Singers Award" held by Japan's popular magazine, "Asian Pops." The other top ten singers in order were Leslie Cheung, Takeshi Kaneshiro, Faye Wong, Leon Lai, Jacky Cheung, Ekin Cheng, Aaron Kwok, Kelly Chen, and Karen Mok.
• Andy new Mandarin album, "Love Is a Miracle," has been released. There are two new songs, one Mandarin and one Cantonese, and "Chinese." He also resung 10 of the top songs from the past few years. The CD comes with a free VCD with the MTVs of "Chinese" and "Why Take Her Away."
• Andy will be staying in Taiwan for one month to film the movie, "Ching Yi" (temporary title). The female lead is Annie Wu (Ng San Gwan). The movie also stars Tony Leung Ka-Fai. The story is about Andy going to Taiwan to study and falls in love with a news reporter.

Andy Lau was invited to the opening ceremony of "97 Tsim Sha Tsim East Thai food Festival" last night. He is a good friend of the boss. Before they did something for charity, he participated in it when he had time.

Regarding the accident in the explosion scene days before, Andy always acts in some explosion scene. What does he think of the accidents? He said, when the accident happened, some of his friends were there and they helped to save the worker too. Later they talked about it on the phone. It was purely an acccident, because in any of these scence, it would be done under save circumstance. Everyone has to be careful.

Andy has acted for many years, the most dangerous once happened in 6 or 7 years, whening filming "the Last Blood". His legs were burnt when doing an expliosion scene. Becasue the fire ball is so large, he was scared too. Although he was waring some specical trouser, and there were fire extinguisher, he still got injured. He joked,"Why would I get injured? You have to ask the action director Or Sau Leung. He told me not to tell others, and he invited me for a free dinner to keep my mouth shut!"

He didn't buy insurance after the accident. He joked, "Sorry, I haven't brought insurance, but the company would buy some basic workers' insurance for me. Except that, 2 or 3 years ago, my accountant suggested me to put HK$100 000 to buy a fund. It's a alternative of insurance, and it's a saving plan."

He said, after the injury, he got some fearness about expliosive scene. He can overcome his fear of height, but cannot overcome the fear of fire. He joked the fearness was brought to him by Or. Would his family resist him on doing expliosive scene? He replied, as an actor, he can't do anything. He can only do the scene under safe conditions. He would not keep the dangerous scenes as screts to his family.

Andy was talking with a friend 2 days ago and found that he was the actor director of the movie that had accident before. He was there when the accident happened, and try to save the worker, but it was too late.

Andy said, "My friend siad this is really an unfortunate accident. Because the worker is far far away. Maybe he was curious about the explosion and stood far away to watch. It's unbelievably the broken pieces flied up and hit his head when falling parabolically."

He though accident is unpredictable, but actors and workers should try their best on safety. Usually he has chances of explosions, fire and gunfire scenes when producing movies, everytime it would be done under safe conditions, but he hurted his legs once.

About 5 or 6 years ago, he went Singapore for producing "the Last Blood". There is a scene that he was burst. Or Sau Leung was the director, the fire ball really burst him and his legs were burnt. It's lucky there is fire extinguisher next to him, his trouser was wet, so he wasn't badly hurt, but still he had to be sent to the hospital.

He said," After the accider, Or told me not to tell others. He is afraid it would influence his name. I of course requested him some benefir to keep my mouth shut. I got a dinner for it."

Although he wan't badly hurt and got a dinner for keeping sclience, he got fears from it. Everytime if there is scene of fire, there would be some fears inside him. He rather to overcome fear of height than taking fire scene.

Why doesn't he purchase some insurance? He said he refuses insurance since he was small, even though he has been injured, he wouldn't change. Until 2 or 3 years ago his accountant suggest him to invest some fund. Basically, if he has some accident, the money would go directly to his parent. He paied only $100,000 at the beginning.

He said, "I don't know the totally amount either, because it's very hard to calculate. My parents don't need the money for their lives, I did it just for my family."

He appeared in Tsim Sha Tsui east yesterday evening with Miss Thailand, ambassadors, etc, for the opening ceremony of "Thai food festival".

Andy appeared in the "100 years peak" in Tsim sha Tsui for the "97 Tsim Sha Tsui East Thai Food Festival" opening ceremony. Days ago, a worker was killed in the filming si te, Andy's friend knows him.

Andy said, "When I was filming "the Last Blood" years ago, my leg was burnt and had to go to the hospital. Or Sau Leung was the action director at that time, he told me not to tell anyone. It's to avoid my fans to be worried." Does Andy buy some insurance for safety?

Andy said, "I invested some money 2 or 3 years ago, but I claimed that it wasn't an insurance. I used $100 000, if I get some accident, I would get compansations!"

Besides, Andy would make a new movie "love and friendship" for Win's entertainment in late April. The leading actress would be Ng Sun Kwon, and Tong Leung Ka Fai would participate too. Andy was invited to a "Thai Food Festival". Andy said, it was a charity activity, so he would squeeze some time to take place. Andy Lau and Wan Jin Lung are good friends. They worked together many times, " Andy sings, Wan played Er Wu (Chinese musical instrument)for him; In Wan's Er Wu Concert, Andy came to help him. Recently they are going to start a business. They are planning to have a "Er Wu, singer and actor training center". Wan teaches Er Wu, and Andy would teaches his experience on singing and acting to the new comers.

After taking in the sitting room, Andy suddenly invited Wan to his bedroom, "Standing up, and following him, my heart was beating hard. Because there was rumour said Andy was "that" (means gay). But we reach the bedroom and to the closet. Oh, his closet is so large. Andy said, many clothes haven't been worn yet, and told me to pick some suitable, and gave it to me." Picking clothes, going out of the bedroom, Wan said, " I thought something would happen, but nothing did. You can see how horriable rumour is."

They both are serious on this friendship and they are very good friends. In the visiting, Wan talked about his Er Wu training plan in Taiwan. Fast reponding Andy, replied immediately,"Except Er Wu, we can add training on sining and acting." In the last 3 months, Wan was looking for good spots in Taipei, perparing for "Er Wu, singer actor training center". "I saw a 100 spare meters place in Yan Jin Street, but rental is not low. Andy is thinking to buy a house as an office for future use. We are still planning and we are preparing it." All detailed plan has to wait for Andy to come to Taiwan in late April.

Andy Lau is planning to operate a "Er Wu (a kind of chinese musical instrument) and singer actor training cernter" with Taiwanese Wan Jin Lung, an Er Wu expert, in Taipei. Wan is start looking for places in Taipei. Wan used to think of renting, but Andy likes to buy some office. Detailed plan would be confirmed when Andy goes to Taiwan for filming "sai sai" in late April.

Wan explained the reason of starting business with Andy, "3 or 4 months ago, I went to Andy's home in Hong Kong. I said I want to hold a Er Wu class, and Andy said immediately that he can teach singing and acting. " Besides, Wan leaked some interesting secret of Andy, " There is a lot of cooked Swallow Nets in Andy's home. He would eat one everyday to keep his face looks good." Andy invited Wan to visit his bedroom. Wan joked, "When going to his bedroom, I am a bit nervous. Andy's mini photo collections, which goes with his comic "retrun", has a cover which is similar to a japanese advertisment of "penis sergery". Two nights before when Andy was in the Clear Water Bay TV City, he joked, " I don't copy from the advertisment! This photo was taken by my driver with an automatic camera. If he is so smart, I would operate a studio and let him to concentrate on taking photos, doesn't have to drive."

Besides, Andy was playing the hot "computer pet", Taimagochi. It was originally about HK$ 140. It was sold about $3000. Andy said, "Days ago I asked my friend to buy over 10 of these from Japan and give them to some friends as a gift. We are having competition of "feeding chickens"!". People around joked that Andy is operating some place for "chickens". (It means some sex industry in Cantonese.)

Andy Lau's new song shows a lot of "Chinese spirit". His music company is negoitiating with China that "Chinese" can be the theme of a nation wide TV series. Andy said, if it's succesful, it would have a great impact on the selling of the CD in China, it could raise about 1 million.

Besides, he is also discussing a concert in China. Rumour siad Andy was blacklisted because he participated in the "Taiwan Oct 10 celerbration". And now he is discussing a concert, is that because he met Chairman Jiang?

The first Mandarin radio station was broadcasted yesterday....

Andy's New song "Chinese" is welcomed and accepted by many people. There is one TV series from a corporation of China and Hong Kong wants to use the song as the theme, they are now negotiating.

Some people in the Chinese Government told Andy, if he sings a song for a TV series, and if the series is successful, his album can be sold over 1 millions. Some HK movies want to use the song as their theme as well.

In recent years, Andy didn't hold any concert in China. Rumour said it's because 3 years ago, he held a concert in Taiwan and he is blacklisted in China. But since he met Chairman Jiang, he is out of the list now. Andy said, there is some company want to hold a concert fo r him in China, but he has to take care about his movies and he can't find some time for it. It's not because he met Chairman Jiang, and he just saw Jiang in a crowd of people and they never talked.

Concerts in China usually held on Fridays, saturdays or sundays. He can't put down his movies for a concert. All depends on timing, he doesn't want to influence his jobs in movies.

Andy said, "If it's real, China won't invite me to the Chinese new year party. Maybe I should find some times to hold one or two concerts in the mainland. I don't want people to misunderstand."

Later, Andy would act in 2 movies, "Full throttle II" and "sai sai". Two movies would start filming at the same time. Don't know when Andy would have time to hold a concert in China?

Andy Lau's Mandarin song "Strengthen my heart to love you" becomes only of the "first season songs of Jade awards". Andy said his first award every year was brought to him by a mandarin song, he wanted his Cantonese songs would do better this year.

Andy just filled a Cantonese lyric "Why brings her away?", and it's called "don't bring her away" in Mandarin. They are both written by Andy. And the Cantonese version is the theme of his movie "Armageddon".

Regarding his comics "Return", the new issue comes together with a small photo collections of Andy; in which the photos were taken in Czech. But the covered is like an advertisment of "a penis operation" in Japan.

Andy said he had never heard of it. But he said the photos are taked by a automatic camera and he's never think of being similar to an advertisment. He joked that he should operate a studio for the one who took the photo to earn some money.

Recently, many youngster liked to play "Tamagochi". Andy likes it too. He has his own experience and his own ways to "feed" the little chickens. He said the chickens have to be taught before they were born. They should be told "not to lose, but good boys". Andy and some co-workers are having a competition and see who can "feed" the chickens for longer. And he said when the chickens are growing up, you don't have to be very nice to them. Andy's chicken is now 4 years old, and it seems that he is good at feeding this "computer pets".
